An AI interior-design app, built from scratch to the App Store
A Southern California interior design studio wanted to turn their design expertise into a consumer product. Plixy built the entire thing — from first commit to App Store release.

The challenge
Madespace is an interior design studio with deep craft knowledge and zero engineering staff. They wanted an app where anyone could design a room — without learning prompt engineering, and without the generic output of raw image generators.
The hard part wasn't calling an image model. It was building a visual design experience that felt like working with a designer: blending styles instead of typing prompts, results curated by professional taste, and a path from 'nice picture' to actually furnishing the room.
What we built
Visual style blending, no prompts
Users compose a design by combining styles visually. The app translates those choices into a generation pipeline tuned with the studio's designers — their taste is the product.
From render to real room
Designs connect to in-app shopping, so the furniture in a generated room can actually be bought.
Human designers on demand
Built-in video consultations connect users with the studio's real interior designers — the app feeds the studio's core business instead of replacing it.
Subscription business model
Free-trial subscription flow, App Store review compliance, and the unglamorous production details handled end to end.
Results
- Live on the iOS App Store — a design studio now owns a software product
- The client owns 100% of the code and infrastructure
- AI features shipped as the product core, not a bolted-on gimmick
Built by Plixy's founder as a client engagement — the same end-to-end model Plixy runs today.
