Sidedoc was an AI chatbot using retrieval-augmented generation, or RAG. Arman confirmed the product and his build work; the likely old sidedoc.ai archive does not provide a working public application to inspect today.
The pattern behind the product
RAG combines retrieved information with a language model’s generation. A conversation can use supplied knowledge as context rather than relying only on what the model learned during training.
Why retrieval matters
The original RAG research addresses knowledge-intensive tasks and the challenge of updating or tracing a model’s knowledge.
